Design of the bambino came from the experience of an infant funeral and the desire to create a special vessel that would be appropriate and sensitive enough for such a difficult moment.
In the spirit of 'laying to rest' the shape echoes that of a cradle or crib, whose gentleness of form offers reassurance and comfort. The low sides maintain a sense of safe containment whilst offering less of a barrier while saying final goodbyes.
Inside the bambino there is ample space to include toys or other favourite items, whilst the head and tailboard surfaces are ideal for attaching a photograph if desired.
The bambino is made entirely from natural materials, with an eco-friendly bamboo shell, natural rope handles and a 100% cotton quilted lining. The wooden surfaces are finished with a citrus-scented organic furniture oil to create a soft attractive surface. As a result, the bambino feels beautiful, approachable, and gently appropriate.
